Samsonville Funhouse — Designed by a Creative Residential Architect

The Samsonville Funhouse is a vibrant, one-of-a-kind project designed by a creative residential architect to reflect the playful personality of its owners. Set on a wooded property in the Catskills, the home redefines what residential architecture can be—bold, expressive, and full of unexpected moments.

From asymmetrical rooflines to dramatic color choices and whimsical interior details, this home celebrates creativity at every turn. The layout was designed to encourage flow and connection, with a large central living space and nooks tucked throughout for quiet retreat and reflection.

Custom elements—like rock climbing wall, basketball hoop, and upstairs loft—showcase how architecture can be both functional and fun. Large windows frame the surrounding trees, bringing nature into every room and softening the contrast of the bold interior palette.

The Samsonville Funhouse is a perfect example of what’s possible when a client and a creative residential architect embrace personality, vision, and freedom of design. It’s more than a home—it’s a joyful experience of space.
